THE 'REAL' HOVERBOARD

Have you seen the different variation of hoverboards around? Do they actually hover? Now, there is one that does!

A US-based aerospace company - ARCA SPACE Corporation has created what is called an ArcaBoard.

The so called hoverboard in the market right now does not actually hover around like the one Marty Mcfly uses in Back To The Future II. This is when ArcaBoard comes in as it claims to be able to let its riders float above land and water just like the one in the movie!

This may seem like a dream comes true for many but there is more that you need to know about an ArcaBoard and some of its limitations.

The ArcaBoard cost USD$19,900 and that's not counting the ArcaDock (USD$4,500).

[if !supportLists]2. [endif]Very short usage span!

The ArcaBoard comes with 2 different versions – enhanced thrust and long endurance, they last for 3 minutes and 6 minutes respectively per use.

[if !supportLists]3. [endif]Long charging time.

It takes 6 hours to fully charge your Arcaboard unless you purchase the ArcaDock for much shorter charging time of only 35 minutes. However, just like what I have previously mentioned, an ArcaDock is nowhere near cheap.

BUT

I am not saying that ArcaBoard has no pros to it but these are just some of the cons that stood out to me!

ArcaBoard does come with a hefty price tag, however, the spokesperson for ARCA SPACE Corporation mentioned that it is because "the company only wants to use the best possible quality parts" for their products and hence the high price.

Now let me share with you some of the features of ArcaBoard.

ArcaBoard allows users to move in all directions! It does not matter if you want to move across water or rocky roads, because an ArcaBoard enables you to hover anywhere and everywhere.

[if !supportLists]2. [endif]Phone Control.

You can control your ArcaBoard via Bluetooth. Just sit on it and fly around as if you are on the Aladdin’s magic carpet!

[if !supportLists]3. [endif]Stability.

ArcaBoard guarantees smooth and stable ride even when you are hovering at high speed or taking a turn while you are on it!

[if !supportLists]4. [endif]Safety comes first.

The reason why Arca Space Corporation chose to use 36 smaller ducted fans over few larger ones for its ArcaBoard is because, in case of engine failures, the ArcaBoard will not take a sudden fall because each fan has its own engine.

Overall, I think that the ArcaBoard is a really cool and interesting invention. It makes me look forward to all the other futuristic motorised vehicles that will be coming to us in the next 5 to 10 years!
